TMC Story
2025 marked a milestone with the 8th cohort of The Mentorship Class, ending in a vibrant finale. Enthusiasm shone through mentee-led initiatives, with engaging sessions and with the highlight of Fun Day buzzing with talent. The Grande Finale, featuring navy blue and rose gold, with Guest of Honor - Hassan Saleh (CEO, Multichoice Uganda), set a new growth and unity standard at TMC.
The year marked the second under the new management team, featuring the inaugural Sports Gala. This cohort was characterized by a high level of enthusiasm from mentees and an increase in activities pioneered by mentees.
This was the first cohort after the COVID-19 pandemic. The classes were shifted to t Zimbali Bistro. This cohort was supported by a new management team that brought new ideas improving the structure and outcome of the classes. Dr. Atingi-Ego Michael, the Governor of the Bank of Uganda, was the guest of honor at the grandfinale. This cohort was notable for its lively and extroverted characters.
All classes were conducted virtually during the second COVID lockdown until the grand finale. This year introduced Thursday sessions that were continued in subsequent cohorts. The British High Commissioner to Uganda, Kate Airy, served as the guest of honor on the grand finale.
This was the first fully virtual class due to the COVID pandemic, culminating in a virtual graduation ceremony where the guest of honor was Martha Kigozi. The dedication of the mentees and the management team allowed completion of the entire six months developing new online strategies that were maintained in TMC thereafter.
In this cohort, the class grew in number and confidence with the impact of lessons causing a difference in the alumni. The guest of honor in the grand finale was Deborah Malac, the U.S. Ambassador. This cohort was the first to feature performances by the mentees, adding a new dimension to the program.
The second cohort of the class was as eager as the first revealing the potential for impact.The class grew in number and enthusiasm culminating with a grand finale with Charles Peter Mayiga, Katikkiro of Buganda as the guest of honour.
This pioneer cohort started with 20 enthusiastic female mentees, later joined by male counterparts. It set the foundational structure and activities for the mentorship class. Part of the main highlights were having Prof Maggie Kigozi and Mr Kibuuka Sam as the main guests of honour in addition to Sandra Suubi's phenomenal music performance.
